Advertisment.

Along with my DIGIPAK I have other desirable ways to market my product.
YOUTUBE-
The most common platform that young people use is YouTube. This website is used for watching entertaining videos and listening to music. it provides plenty of grounds of which you could advertise for example side ads pop up and additionally adverts before videos. I could use short videos about 5 seconds and place them before videos on YouTube to advertise my video. additionally my dig pak cover could be placed on pop up ads or on other websites to promote the single.

The biggest issue would be getting the rights to use YouTube as my advertisement ground. furthermore getting the rights is only half of the problem as it would cost lots to actually get my product placed on YouTube.

Target audience.

My target audience will primarily be both genders. Due to me using a common pop song its likely that most people will know it and enjoy listening to it. Additionally I would say its a happy song therefor it doesn't fully select a specific audience. This mainstream song is sang by a household artist and in turn appeals to a wide target audience. The age gap would mainly be from 12-18 however it wouldn't be surprising if an older adult enjoyed it. Meaning my video has to be specific to the teenage group however it cant neglect the adults.
My target audience, being teenagers would be aware of sexual behaviour and therefor it wouldn't be off limits for me. However under the school supervision it wouldn't be fully appropriate for me to include acts such as passionate kissing or further. also some of the younger teenagers may not be fully aware of sexual scenes so it would be advisable to stay clear.

Digipak

 

This is the template that I will create my Digipak from. Its one of the simple designs however I don't the song is the most complex anyway. My front cover is likely to only hold a simple image that I take from a photo shoot. The back will contain the tracks of the album and of course the main single.

Song choice.

The song I have picked is 'Beautiful people' by Chris Brown. The song is pretty self explanatory and has direct correlation towards the title. The music video contains hardly any lip syncing and is just full of a group of friends having a good time during plenty of activities such as dancing, scooting and chilling out.

The melody is very up beat and the speed of the song is fairly fast which represents the idea of having a good time. additionally I like this song as it talks about people belonging in the world which is one of Maslow's theories ' love and belonging'.

Artist back ground.

Chris brown is a pop / hip hop artist that creates up beat dance anthems that generally are listened by everybody under the age of 25. His dance tracks are very current and would be fairly easy to create a video that has synergy to the track.


Usher is an r&b artist. His main type of music is slow love songs, therefor I think I could make a piece that has a story and meaning around one of his more passionate tracks.


lastly J Cole is a hip hop artist. However his music unlike some of the hard-core rap artist he tends to release slower tracks. they usually have meanings and are not always about the stereotype women and money like most of the rap artists. I could definitely make a montage / lip syncing piece to one of his tracks.

Music video

I am stuck between between two genres of music to do my video on. I like the idea of a light current song that doesn't have that much of a niche audience. For example a song by an artist like Chris Brown as his tracks are up beat and easy to follow.
 In contrast I would like to create a video over a slow rap / r&b song. I would like this because I think it would be easy to create a meaningful story video that has segments of montages. I like the idea of a mixed story/montage video because its likely to appeal to more people.
